English Version Tibetan Prayer Flags

• A Prayer flag is a colorful panel of rectangular cloth often found strung along mountain ridges and high peaks in the Himalayas. These are used to bless the surrounding countryside for Peace, Prosperity, Purification, Compassion, Success, Knowledge & Longlife of all sentient beings. Traditionally, and prayer flags are hand block printed with Texts (Mantras) and Holy Images. Flags are of five colors blue, white, red, green & yellow. In Buddhist culture, each color has its own significance, which represents five elements of life. Blue color represents SKY, and white color represents CLOUD, red color represents FIRE, green color represents PLANTS, yellow color represents EARTH.
