- Incense burner, container, generally of bronze or pottery and fitted with a perforated lid, in which incense is burned. Although incense burners have been used in Europe, they have been far more widespread in the East.
- These are Buddha Eyes (also known as Wisdom Eyes) and the lookout in the four directions to symbolize omniscience (all-seeing). Between the Buddha’s eyes, where the nose would be, is a curly symbol that looks like a question mark. The Nepali character symbolizes all things and the one way to reach enlightenment—through the Buddha’s teachings. Above, the third eye symbolizes the all-seeing wisdom of the Buddha.
